Fresh from the biggest spending increase ever, President Obama is putting on his deficit hawk outfit, claiming he can cut red ink significantly without gimmicks. A real feat if he can do it. We have our doubts.

The president promises an outline of his budget plan on Thursday, but he has already leaked some details. He says he can cut the deficit from a likely $1.4 trillion this year to $533 billion by 2013.

Some good stuff in here, including info from the CBO, which ain't ravingly wild. IBDeditorials.com: Editorials, Political Cartoons, and Polls from Investor's Business Daily -- Good Luck On Deficit (http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=320456517367673 - broken link)
