Excerpt from Obama's weekly Radio Address.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama challenged the nation's vested interests to a legislative duel Saturday, saying he will fight to change health care, energy and education in dramatic ways that will upset the status quo.
"The system we have now might work for the powerful and well-connected interests that have run Washington for far too long," Obama said in his weekly radio and video address. "But I don't. I work for the American people."

Obama is what we have needed for decades...

No kidding. But, apparently, the right-wing sees working "for the American people" as "socialism." Only when "the powerful and well-connected" are supported and have the upper hand is the nation "capitalist." Never mind about that little detail called "democracy." Who needs "democracy" when Papa Corporate serves us all SO well?

Talk is cheap, these are just declarations. Lets celebrate after the game. It remains to be seen how much will Obama accomplish in the next 4 years. All you can say at this stage is that you like his intentions.

I think he is doing pretty damn good his first month. I mean he has the GOP on it's heels kind of amusing to observe. Old LimpBall will probably be back on Oxycontin before too long.

I see that you failed to hear Limbaugh's speech this afternoon at the conservative meeting. Since you failed I will run right out and get some of it so you can see how near he is to going back to drugs.

Europe isn't "socialist." And neither is Obama. Try to get that through your head, okay? Helping people does not equate with "socialism." Damn. It's not that difficult to understand.

What's wrong with people helping themselves? It shouldn't be governments responsibilty to take care of every single basic human need. It should be survival of the fittest. If they are too lazy to get up work then maybe natural selection should just take care of them and a few of them should just die off. I don't see that as a big lose. It would be a like a retroactive abortion. That might be a good thing.

What kind of help do these people need? My parents immigrated to this country with very little English, never relied on the Government for anything and today are very successful. Most people that need "help" from the Government are just too ignorant or made some really stupid choices. If you are too stupid to be successful in this country, how about not having any kids?. I see so many idiots making 10 bucks/hour and they are having 4, 5 kids. I have no sympathy for these people.
