That might have something do do with the fact that many countries of the world have no issues with executing prisoners. I'd guess that works to reduce the prison population on several levels.

It doesn't have anything to do with it. Only 4 countries are known to execute more ordinary criminals than the U.S. does, and even in those countries the numbers executed would not have a noticeable effect on the incarceration rate.

Looking at China they have kicked 45 million people offf the government guaranteeed icome in teh last years that they have become so successful in. Slowly but surely they have cahnged. But the old corrution of paying the officals to do anything remains the same.As one distent recently said she has gotten out of politcs because its too dangerous there. Better to just let the system be changed over time by the free markets as much as it can.People don't save at a 40% rate for any different reason than people here have actaully started saving;they know things can get worse.

As for democracies with strong socialist economic models: one need only look at the oppressed peoples of Scandanavia.
Strong and socialist is not commonly used together. In fact all those socialist states have a much lower total value than the US. The only one with a higher value per capita is Japan. Largely from our help in reconstruction efforts to help them after the bombs were dropped.

You ought to check your facts before artlessly deploying sarcasm.
Really and in a communist society where everyone provides for everyone else. Why would they have a limit on children and why would they feel the need to force abortions. Here's a hint communism oppresses smartest and brightest and rejects the lowest and least productive all for the sake of "middle class".

China has been a round a long time but because of their oppressive regimes and their anti intellectual stances they fell prey to totalitarianism. Mao killed millions. Are they moving away from that idea after him? Yes. But they are still as oppressive as ever in terms of any sort of dissent. The Chinese are shaking in their boots over this economic circumstance because like good communist they understand the empowerment of the people under such circumstances in creating coups or civil uprest. Typical of all oppressive regimes.

That's around 2.5% of the population. If anyone here has actually talked with many Chinese immigrants they would have a better understanding of what it's like to live in that oppressive regime. I worked with 100's of Chinese folks so I understand what it was like for them when they say you speak nothing of politics or of advancement or dissent from the government.

Screw China. The USA might be a nation of materialistic idiots, but China is a nation of mercenary bastards. The USA insists on making corporations such as WalMart rich beyond measure while they serve up crap and junk products from China. Poison food, toxic toys etc. Just look at what these thugs have done to Tibet...why should we want anything to do with them?

China ignores genocide in Darfur to buy oil from Sudan because they need their stinking oil to fuel the factories that produce the garbage that stupid Americans insist that they cannot live without. Yes, China is mercenary and Americans are idiots!

You've been watching a wee too much Glenn Beck. You two are in the outer limits of available oxygen
