Just a simple question. Is mandatory community service involuntary servitude?

THis is a repeat thread.

If EVERYONE every citizens is made to do sevice as a requirement for just being.. then yes.

What the president has proposed and what is set forth is nthing of the sort.

Actually it's more like rewrding volunteerism in the community and civilian service in government with help in obtaining and education to better yourself.

And, if you read it, it is actually amending something that has already been in existence since hte 70's.. and expanding it to give more opportunities to those who participate.

But you might want to find that thread on this subject already!

You may want to ask an Israeli, as military service is mandatory in Israel.

We had mandatory community service to graduate HS in the 90's. Was good for everyone all around.

I believe under the proposed plan, you get assistance with paying for college in return.
