Why is it that everyone on this board is either labeled a neocon or a liberal based on whether a poster disagrees with them? It really hinders a lot of discussion on the board from middle of the road people.

And yeah, zealout. part zealot, part lout.

Because labels are an effective means to not only denounce those you disagree with, but also serve to paint people into a little box that can be denounced by others. This saves time and people are generally intellectually lazy, as it is easier to just point and shout than it is to stop and consider anything with any depth. Thought requires effort and it holds the possibility that you may be wrong and the only thing people run away from more than thinking, is admitting they made a mistake. To admit you made a mistake or that you may be wrong then puts in motion that you might be required to act upon something contrary to what you held to be true and again this requires even more effort. So in the end it is just easier to look at life like a checkers board, red on one side, black on the other, both playing on a field that is either one way or another. Absolutism, black and white, this and that, see how easy it is when you have only two choices.

The problem especially with politics is that one republican is not necessarily the same as the next. You can have a guy like Reagan and his choices compared to GWB's would be totally different but if you are from the opposing party they are both Republicans. Now with Obama,he just got into office but considering the DISASTER that the last guy caused,I think it was obvious that a democrat was going to win.Now the republicans are VERY BITTER so on a daily basis they blast Obama asking why he hasn't cleared up this mess! The reason is that if it took 8 years to do that much damage, then it's obviously not going to take only 2 months to clear it up.At least our guy isn't just sitting around,he's doing what he thinks needs to be done.
So to answer the original question,it's based on extreme jealousy, anymosity,or just the fact that self analyzing or accepting fault for 8 horrible years is out of the question for most people who consider themselves REPUBLICANS.I personally knew the guy was a putz and didn't vote for him either time.If he had done good,I would have been thrilled.I am a true american---whoever does best for this country whether it's a democrat, republican, liberal, conservative,or other; I don't care as long as we are doing well, not stepping on others toes, and try to have good relations with others if possible.
