You could multiply by 4 if there were 4 simultaneous rallies. There weren't. There were more tea party members organized than Obamatrons in any 24 hour period.

We already changed the course of our country. Back in November. It's called "an election." You know, those things they have in democracies? Where the majority elect their President?

We had the biggest debt in history under Bush. Where were your tea parties then?

Comparing apples for apples is meaningless because the DNC funded the Obamatron pow wows. Only tin foil hat wearing psychopaths believe the tea party was actually funded by anyone other than grassroot organizations.

Oh, and my side != Republican
That's so sad it is pathetic. You keep trying to deny the obvious and completely proven fact that the GOP has bankrolled this whole epic fail. From start to finish.

"ST. LOUIS (AP) -- At Barack Obama's rally here on Saturday, the Democrat preached to the choir -- mostly.

Raw Video: Obama's speech
> Larger player

An estimated 100,000 people, confirmed by his campaign to be the largest crowd for an Obama event in the U.S., spilled onto the expansive grounds under the Gateway Arch. They appeared to be mostly ardent supporters of the Illinois senator, shouting "O-bam-AHH, O-bam-AHH" to his ideas on easing the nation's economic crisis and lifting the middle class.

The second largest Obama crowd was 75,000 in Portland, Ore., in May, said Nick Shapiro, spokesman for the main campaign in Chicago. But it was still smaller than the 200,000 Obama drew this past summer in Berlin, Germany."

Imagine if a nationwide protest got the same attendance. That would be about 750,000 people. (And remember, that is using a very conservative-biased percentage, and without having the benefit of two news networks cheerleading and encouraging participation, no help from any national party, no support and logistics help from professional astroturf organizations, and no celebrity attendance, and worse weather conditions.)

Now, if there were, say, 500 tea parties around the country (an overestimate, I believe), and they had an average of 1000 attendees (also incredibly generous) - that means only 500,000 attendees. After all the help from Fox and lobbyists and celebrities.

If that's the case, then the Tea Parties would have to be considered a colossal failure. They would be much, much smaller than pro-immigrant rallies, pro-choice rallies, and anti-Bush-War demonstrations.

In fact, the anti-tax movement would be the Norm Coleman of causes.

Please comment here if you find any information about actual numbers at a national level. Beyond that, what level of attendance would be considered a success?

Conservatives actually have jobs, they're not perpetual college bums or semi-homeless union members who have nothing to lose like at most of the people at crazy left wing rallies.

And tomorrow, the Obama haters will move on to a new topic. Maybe it'll be a rumor that Obama likes to dance naked in the White House. Who knows. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

Whatever they come up with, it'll be just as meaningless to me and to most of America as this tea party charade.
They have nothing left. It would be funny, if it were not so pathetic. To think that there are average citizens actually expending their time and energy to promote a right wing propaganda tool for the rich elite. These morons on the march are too ignorant to understand that they are getting tax breaks. Are they pod people? What possesses them to act so willingly against their own best interests?

That's more people at a single event then if you totaled up every tea bagger at every tea bagging event since the beginning of the year. Talk about an epic fail. The GOP & Fox Noise must feel really stupid about now for literally investing billions into such a failed astroturf campaign.

Most of Obama's staunchest voting blocs were college students, blacks, the unemployed, and the homeless. Oh and unions, and their members were no doubt forced to go just like in communist Cuba. Obama's electorate just doesn't have a busy schedule during the day - unlike most entreprenurial conservatives.

..sooo why'd they plan them for a weekday? And if you admit that the turnout was in fact low, you discredit a right-wing poster on this thread that will remain nameless.
