You fail at debating.

I am a ranting left wing socialist. I am also an NRA member that knows how to use a gun. I am not about to risk my life on the bet that a robber will not hurt me. I am even less willing to risk my wife's life. I do own guns and I am willing to use them for self defense. This is not a “right” given to me by a government. I, and everybody else, have this right by the simple act of being alive.

I do not agree with regulating carrying a concealed weapon. How or where a weapon is carried is none of the government's business and I would just as soon have the criminals assume everyone was armed and willing to defend themselves.

I am far more worried that some police SWAT team is going to invade my house because they found a pot seed in my neighbors garbage can than I am the some hoodlum or drug crazed idiot is breaking down my door. I do not think I could take on a SWAT team with any chance of success any more. If the cops want to come into my house to investigate something they can stop at the door and read the court warrant. If they break in unannounced they are fair game.

And here is the point....your crazy lax gun laws mean that you have to arm yourself to protect yourself. Doesn't happen in Europe.

As they say.......... "Only in America".......lol

I ame myself because the politicians tell me that they, working through the police, cannot defend me. Police are meant to solve crimes and not to prevent them. I am not about to bet my safety on a criminals "better nature".

Not arguing with that...I'm just saying that the lax gun laws in America means that almost ANY IDIOT can get a gun. That is why sooo many need guns.

One of the most important attribute of firearms is almost "any idiot" can be taught how to use them responsibly. Almost anybody can learn to use a shotgun at short ranges, most can achieve reasonable accuracy with a rifle and a many can learn how to use a pistol well enough to reliably hit a human sized target at self defense distance. That is all that is needed.

PS - I learned a long time ago to never try anything John Wayne got away with in the movies. Never!

My ex boyfriend, who had been institutionalized three times, was able to purchase over 15 guns in one year, including a 50 caliber and an AK-47 that he was able to obtain a conversion kit and instructions for easily..

To me, a gun owner, that is unacceptable.
