I know a couple of very well to do secessionists in Texas. They backed Obama with fairly large campaign contributions, as they felt he was the best chance to create a situation in which secession would be appealing to Texans. Looks like he is doing a good job in that regard. He might get it accomplished in his first for years. If not, certainly in his second term.
That makes sense. That's the only reason anyone in texas would vote for nobama.

You know, for some silly reason this sounds like a fantasy you made up.
It is stupid to talk about Texas or any state secedeing from the Union. Not going to happen. No one except a few drunk red necks have the desier to see a civil war, and the first time one of them gets their heads blown off most of the rest would not want any more of it.
Texans have been screaming about leaving the Union ever since the day it joined the Union. How can anyone take them seriously?
While Texas may not be able to secede the union. They do however have the legal right to divide their state into a maximum of five states thereby increasing the number of conservative senators from two to ten. This would have a greater impact on Congress and legislation than leaving the union.

Well, whatever Texas does and whenever it does it, could it just take California along with it? Talk about a marriage made in hell!
We'll be living in another state by then!
