WASHINGTON (CNN) - Steve Schmidt, a key architect of John McCain's presidential campaign, is making his first public return to Washington a bold one.
Schmidt will use a speech Friday to Log Cabin Republicans, a gay rights group, to urge conservative Republicans to drop their opposition to same-sex marriage, CNN has learned.
Good luck with that. You know the way the wingnuts are... 1/4 of them are racists, another 1/4 are always spouting superstitious nonsense about gays going to hell...the other 1/2 are a combination of both...making the Republican Party one of the most abhorrent organizations in the history of America. When they are finally gone, the country will be better off for it.

You know what you conservatives look like as you stick to your opposition to gay marriage? You look like those angry white people who were yelling at young black kids who were being escorted to newly desegregated schools. Those kids had 100 times the courage of the bigots, and 1000 times the grace.
Do you all want to look like those people? Because you're losing this battle, and 20 years from now, people will wonder what the h*ll you were thinking.

I didn't insult you in any way, shape, or form. I find it ironic that ultra far left extremists can feel at home in ultra republican areas. I made my point. I laughed when the OP called mccain a conservative.

Who's an ultra far left extremist?
Wake up and smell the politics, there, Spanky. America leans left and supports liberal causes. The teabaggers are extreme righties.
And get back to the point. Do you want to look like those angry white people who screamed hate at black schoolkids, or do you not? You're losing the gay marriage battle. It's nearly over. And 20 years from now people will wonder how we let a minority of hate-filled bigots keep gay marriage from happening earlier.
How do you feel about being on the losing end of a civil rights battle?
