WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is leaving the door to open to possible prosecution of Bush administration officials who devised harsh terrorism-era interrogation tactics.
He also said Tuesday that he worries about the impact of high-intensity hearings on how detainees were treated under former President George W. Bush. But Obama did say, nevertheless, he could support a Hill investigation if it were conducted in a bipartisan way.
Obama has said he doesn't support charging CIA agents and interrogators who took part in waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics, acting on advice from superiors that such practices were legal. But he also said that it is up to the attorney general whether to prosecute Bush administration lawyers who wrote the memos approving these tactics.

Let the hunt begin... Love to see Cheney crash and burn...
I've been wondering why Dick Cheney hasn't disappeared from the scene......perhaps he's trying to firm up his tiny base of support for whatever is coming in the future. Ahhhh...one can hope...
Cheney is thinking of retreating back to his "man sized" safe. Deep in the lower reaches of his estate in VA. Every time I think of Cheney and "Scooter" Libby I always think of "Mr. Burns" and his trusty sidekick on "The Simpsons".

Nothing will come out of this but I actually hope something does. This will set a precedence that will allow each incoming President to look back over their predecessor's term(s) and decide it anything was done during that time that may have been illegal such as limiting CEO pay, bonuses, seizing non regulated industries, etc.. It will definitely open up DC and maybe even clean it up a little. Each new incoming administration will spend the first year or 2 blaming and bringing up charges against their predecessor. It will make for some fun times I am sure. It will also makes us more like Chavez, Castro, in other words we will be a banana republic and fit in just perfect with the other dictatorships around the world.

I think his leadership quality questions were answered when oprah got him elected.
