Glenn Thrush's Blog: Pelosi briefed on waterboarding in '02 - POLITICO.com

Quote:
Nancy Pelosi denies knowing U.S. officials used waterboarding — but GOP operatives are pointing to a 2007 Washington Post story which describes an hour-ong 2002 briefing in which Pelosi was told about enhanced interrogation techniques in graphic detail.

Two unnamed officials told the paper that Pelosi, then a member of the Democratic minority, didn't raise substantial objections

I guess nobody cares about the completely ridiculous and pure politics that are going on right now.

Duplicate thread, and a distraction from the actual crime.

If you can't be bothered to get upset that Bush/Cheney actually committed torture, then your protestations about Pelosi are pretty vacuous.

OR - if you pretend it's about justice and not politics and are pursuing Bush/Cheney while completely ignoring Pelosi, then it's obvious that you're pretty vacuous as is your call for justice.

The key is that it was not considered torture at the time and everyone involved including some Dems agreed. There are many things Obama is currently doing that may be considered by a future administration, if it is as filled with partisan hacks as this one, to be illegal. That might be fun to see what would happen after Obama's time at the helm.

This answer is so full of crap. This isn't a game. This isn't partisan politics. You're thinking of a six-year pursuit of impeachment against Clinton. That's partisan witch-hunting.

Bush instituted torture. They did it secretly. They briefed a couple of Dems - friendly ones. Some of them complained using the only means they could without violating the law.

Bush wiretapped Americans in violation of FISA. He's admitted it. There are court cases going on right now that have only to do with who has standing and whether information already known will be admissible in court.

Bush is a war criminal. So are a dozen members of his administration.

On the other hand, President Obama is doing things that have been done legally dozens of times. There's nothing that you can point to that is illegal (with the exception of the extents that he's going to in order to protect Bush).

This nonsense is getting old. We are America. We don't torture. And we don't let people off the hook for violating the law just to make wingnuts feel better (especially when they refuse to behave in a bipartisan manner on anything).

Then I want her arrested and put on trial also. Anyone and everyone connected to torture should be arrested and put on trial, they are war criminals!!!

Tell that to service members who have been waterboarded as part of specialized Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape training.

Good to see loons like you still coddling the enemy. If our soldiers, sailors, Airmen, and Marines can handle it, so can our enemies.

By the way. How a little more protest from people like you when Americans are hooked up to batteries, beaten, maimed, and decapitated.

Waa, waa, waaa, quit your whining. Under Obama wiretaps collected more information on US citizens, far more egregious than Bush had. That is right, I know it was just a simple mistake. Isn't that what they said. BS, it is the same thing different face. You sheep amaze me! Things Obama is doing financially could easily be considered illegal with the right partisan lawyer looking at it and the right judge reviewing it. Take a chill pill they are all the same. The party in power is the party of corruption. The sooner you sheep learn that the sooner our country can get on the right track. Such ignorance!
