BAGHDAD - Iraq's government has recorded 87,215 of its citizens killed since 2005 in violence ranging from catastrophic bombings to execution-style slayings, according to statistics obtained by The Associated Press that break open one of the most closely guarded secrets of the war.
Combined with tallies based on hospital sources and media reports since the beginning of the war and an in-depth review of available evidence by The Associated Press, the government figures show that more than 110,600 Iraqis have died in violence since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.
The number is a minimum count of violent deaths. The official who provided the data to the AP, on condition of anonymity because of its sensitivity, estimated the actual number of deaths at 10 to 20 percent higher because of thousands who are still missing and civilians who were buried in the chaos of war without official records.
Not sure of the political intent of your thread, or if you are simply making known the number of dead, but it should also be known the atrocities that were committed under Saddam Hussein.

AG, the number of people killed and the attrocities committed by Saddam are trivial to the left, it doesn't support their talking points. The fact that the vast majority of Iraqis killed since the invasion were killed by insurgents and sectarian violence rather than the US military also won't. When you hate anything American, you don't let facts get in the way.
No matter who does the counting or how, Iraq will remain a huge right-wing blunder that Americans will be ashamed of and apologizing for for generations...

Like that really matters, insurgents and sectarian violence that most likely would not be going on if there was not an invasion.

And I guess the American people should disregard the fact that they were told we were going into Iraq for a completely different reason, one that turned out to be a calculated lie? Bad guys are plentiful. This is a lame, after-the-fact attempt to justify a treasonous act.
