It won't work but it might back them into a corner and force their hand. That will be interesting to watch. I think we would be better off just giving Israel the wink, wink.

There is no good reason for us to sanction Iran, and no good reason for Russia or China to cooperate if we did.

They will respond to it as an act of war, and then fire 2,000 missiles into the Saudi oil fields.

There are times American logic baffles me, so exactly how would reducing supply opportunities and the natural course of reduced supply leading to increased costs at the pump of consumers supposed to help the American economy?

Is this a wise move considering that China has finalized an agreement with Pakistan to start pumping Iranian gas via pipeline, like Russia currently, which is predicted to help offset costs for Chinese production and lower exports costs to the American market?

Are Americans determined to help foreign countries out compete them in the rapidly emerging global economy for the sake of ideology? Are the majority of Americans happy to cut their noses off to spite their face?

I am with you!
Remember Joey Tribbiani from "Friends"? "It's all "Moo" point!"
It is time to become more creative! There are things you don't like about Iran! Think of what doesn't Iran like about US! You should deal with that I think! And especially to not support Israel in its military operations that much. That irritates Iran more than anything else! Government should think what to do with it. First of all Iran and Israel should be reconciled with each other. And this is the hardest political issue in ME! But solving that US will again become superpower and now even stronger, with support of one of the biggest islamic states. Fantastic - understand, but this is my opinion!

We have no political, moral or military reason to interfere with Iran's internal or external affairs. Interfering with their trade is unwise and unnecessary. It would only exacerbate the tensions in the area. To interfere would be foolish and unnecessary.

We do not have the economic strength to maintain the shards of our world wide empire and had better cut back. The Middle East is a good place to start our withdrawal form the task of being Mammon’s world enforcer.

IMHO we should start wrapping up our presence in the Middle East and concentrate on helping to create actual, not false, like Columbia, republics in this hemisphere. It is time to take care of our own back yard. We can start by encouraging the industrial potential of South America. Following the example of Chavez’s Venezuela would be a good policy to follow.

As I read your post, I thought that you were on the extreme right, ala the isolationists of the 1930's. But then I was hit with the last sentence - that we should follow Chavez's example! So I was correct about the extremism but just had the wrong end.

It's interesting how the extremists on the left and the right can go so far that their positions become so similar it's hard to tell who's who!

People would be very wise to stop trying to antagonize Iran and North Korea and forcing them to develop more advanced weapons. I know the idea is to start another war, but it's unprovoked and we don't need another war.

If we are going to do this, now would be the time. The world is up to its knees in cheap oil and we don't need Iran's oil right now.

Agreed. Israel the only country left with the guts to do anything about Iran anyway. They are the ones cornered, so will be fighting for survival (as usual).
