I thought his comments on healthcare was interesting. If America adopted a single-payer system how would that affect medical innovations that other countries rely on?

Wow, that's about as likely as finding an Italian Protestant!

Have had the pleasure of meeting Johan Norberg at a convention several years ago, and have a deep respect for him. He was very easy going, and discovered we shared the same interest in international libertarian goals. Very nice to see him able to express his well thought out views outside of the standard think tanks and conventions. He has a bright and elegant wife Sofia and their son will be turning two soon.

Some of his ideas may start to catch on in Sweden and other parts of Europe. With their populations ageing in large numbers Europe will have to find other ways to deal with poverty, healthcare and retirement that don't overly emphasize the use of government and taxes.

What's odd is that many of the far left European nations are now waking from their leftist induced marxist comas and realizing that it just doesn't work, yet here we are with a president that wants to emulate a failed system.

Doesn't make his argument any less valid.

last summer I was hanging out with some swedish chick and I had her listen to ron paul during the debates (on youtube). after she did and she left for the summer, her number one friend on my space was ron paul. I thought that was funny. it was crazy hanging out with her. she didn't believe that there were free refills on soft drinks, she couldn't believe I owned a home. she also couldn't believe that I left for work at 6am and got home at 8pm.

Most liberal/socialist "programs" are actaully government ponzi schemes. I don't know why Obama and his supporters can't see that.

Bernie Madoff could see what he was doing. It's those that were emotionally/financially invested in him that either couldn't or wouldn't see what was up.
