LONDON — A pregnant British woman who faces death by firing squad if she is convicted of drug smuggling could go on trial in Laos as early as Monday, a human rights group said Sunday.
Samantha Orobator, 23, has been in jail in Laos since August, when she was accused of trying to smuggle just over half a kilogram (1.1 pounds) of heroin in her luggage.
The British-based human rights group Reprieve said Orobator has not had access to a lawyer yet.

Wow, I hope they give her an extended sentence and at least allow the baby to be born.

And then what? Shoot her to death as soon as the baby pops out?

How about we stop this barbaric practice.

For a drug offense, this is pure insanity. Even for murder, it would be wrong.

I realize we can do nothing about the laws of Laos, but can't we at least stop these killings HERE?

The drug war is stupid and barbaric. The woman is stupid too. She should have been armed like those Mexican drug cartels. Well somebody with a digital camera will capture footage of the execution and those who execute her, follow me. Well, Mexican drug cartels would get revenge if one of their own was executed by murdering all the families of those who participated in the execution and beheading cops and leaving the heads in the town square. Just posting facts and hopefully whoever the higher ups of who she's working for have the balls of the Mexicans.
