Yet last year, Murtech received $4 million in Pentagon work, all of it without competition, for a variety of warehousing and engineering services. With its long corridor of sparsely occupied offices and an unmanned reception area, Murtech's most striking feature is its owner -- Robert C. Murtha Jr., 49. He is the nephew of Rep. John P. Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who has significant sway over the Defense Department's spending as chairman of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee.
No, it is about politicians, regardless of their party, looking out for their best interests and their own. But when things like this are pointed out, typically the people from the left who yelled the loudest are now the most quiet.
This type of thing is bad no matter who is perpetrating it. In this new era of transparency, Murtha should be investigated immediately.
Unfortunately neither the left nor the right has any interest in delving into charges of corruption amongst their peers. Imagine the blue shield but only a larger, more powerful level.

Yes it is all true. There is a code of not snitching in Washington. And I am not talking about in the housing projects.
The problem I have, as mentioned, is that the media will ignore this when it involves a politician who has the same ideology as it does.
John Murtha is corrupt beyond corrupt. What bothers me immensely is that he perpetrates his corruption off the backs of American veterans worldwide. For some reason he feels that his veteran service to this country is a green light to peddle his influence. Pennsylvania needs a good house cleaning, starting with Murtha, and rounded out by sending Arlen Specter back to where he came from as well.
So I guess the AG will be appointing a special prosecutor any day now.

Murtha should've gone about 30 years ago when he got his tender parts caught in the Abscam scandal; party affiliation be damned.
