I never knew this, but recently learned of the incredible discrimination within the gay community for black gay people. Of all the freakin nerve. One wonders where in the hell these people get off screaming for equality when 1) they discriminate against black gays and 2) fail to recognize that racism still detrimentally affects blacks and don't support some form of affirmative action.
Who are "these people"? All gays?
If you're unfamiliar with the violence against gays throughout history, you can educate yourself here:
Says who? I think sodomy is absolutely natural. If you don't agree, chose something else. Your body, your choice.

Marriage is a privilege. The man and woman must qualify (be of legal age, for thing). One must apply for a marriage license. Why would you need a license for something which is a "right?"
It's a right. There is no way a man and woman would be stopped from marrying short of bigomy laws (which means that right to marry has already been exercised).
The tax breaks only apply to some couples. Some couples are actually penalized on taxes. Just wanted to clear that up...
As a former tax preparer who never saw any penalization of married couples in tax situations, I'd be interested in know what you are talking about. In what way do you see married couples penalized on taxes?

It depends on income, but a "marriage penalty" does actually exist for some.
I would hate it in my own home but when they are out there protesting and trying to change the definition of marriage (which has always been between one man and one woman), then they are going to meet with resistance.
I think you need to do some studying. Start with the OT of the Bible and tell me how many wives and concubines Solomon had. Move on to Muhammed, and tell me how many wives he had. And, before you say you were only talking about this country, check into the history of the Mormon church. Then maybe you should delve into the history of divorce, or what my mother used to call "serial monogamy".
I would say the major one right now is that you and I, as heterosexuals, have the right to marry the adult person of our own choice. Gays and lesbians are being told that they have to marry someone who is not their choice, or remain single. (And even in states where they can legally wed, they STILL can't file federal taxes as a married couple; and if one of them should die, their spouse is STILL not entitled to draw SS benefits based on the work history of the deceased.) As heterosexuals, you and I don't need to worry about a landlord or employer 'discovering' our sexual orientation and evicting or firing us because of it. (And, yes, both of those are still legal in too many states in this country.) As heterosexuals, you and I don't have to worry when we simply walk down the street arm in arm with our partners. Two men or two women must be watching at all times to be sure no one is coming up behind them to bash them over the head for having the 'audacity' to simply walk down the street holding hands.

Some people want to marry their animals, dogs, cats, horses....
Should the honorable family community be tolerant of their institution being trampled by perverse choices?
Gays should have kept to themselves and not tried to force their deviant choice on everyone else. Their parades, and media activism has caused a backlash that will not bring them peace, and has not brought them anything but condemnation.
Not very romantic for the woman to have a "civil union." As most women say, their wedding day is something they will remember for the rest of their life.
(No, I am not a woman.)
One of my most cherished pictures is of my parents' wedding day and it didn't happen in a church. Mom and Dad were married at city hall, with Mom wearing a pink two piece dress and Dad wearing a suit and tie. (picture is black and white - I only know Mom's dress was pink because she told me.) One of my sister's was married at city hall, one of them in the other's home. My wedding took place in church, but the pastor almost fainted when he saw my wedding dress! lol! Silver lace over white, hem stopped about four inches above the knee. ($25 cocktail dress, bought at Kmart!) Wedding day memories encompass many things and not all of them 'require' a big church wedding. IMO, those who need that big church wedding, with all the bells and whistles need to stop and think about why it is they are getting married.
