Why don't we just give GM a trillion dollars and say 'live it up'?

'General Motors Corp. said Friday that it has borrowed an additional $4 billion from the Treasury Department, meaning the automaker has now accepted $19.4 billion in loans from the U.S. government.'

Even worse than that, its not a LOAN, the Obama administration has already agreed to FORGIVE the debt during the restructuring phase...

And liberals claim justification for Obama getting involved is a profit... Seems they failed math showing that $19.4Billion loan with $0 paid back is ZERO profit..

Why can't GM just declare bankruptcy already?

Heck it's only our money. We'll just pay it back in higher taxes.

I think the argument is that letting GM go under would devastate the economy, although they seem a lot more willing to let them go under than AIG or the big banks.

I beg to differ.

Obama said that 95% of Americans would see no tax increase, so only 5% of Americans will pay back the TRILLIONS that this administration has borrowed/printed/wasted.

For 95% it will be business as usual. The other 5% can bend over and grab their ankles. (a hefty dose of sarcasm applied)
