Not enough context to the original poll question. No religous right at all? Or just no religous right heavily influencing the politics? Or religous right influencing politics at about the same level as socialist minded liberals?
Heck, I'd vote for the democrats if they really were for the people like they claim. But right now, both sides are full of pandering so badly that I can't pull the lever for either one. I did vote Ron Paul in the primaries, but he really should have run on the libertarian ticket. The GOP is not the party of true freedom like they claim they are. They are big government just like the Dems, the only difference is both sides want different areas of the government to be big.
Arlen Specter was also originally a Dem who became a Republican to run for District Attorney of Philadelphia in the '60s, because the GOP primaries were less crowded in such a heavily Dem city. And now he's a Dem again.
Bloomberg also became a Republican because the primaries were less crowded than the Democratic primaries in America's bluest city.
Bloomberg's a Republican again, now.
He's still an Independent. I haven't seen any news he's a Republican again, can you provide links? But to be honest, I don't care, he can be whatever party he wants. I care about what he does for the city and in my book, he's done a fine job.
I know many who oppose abortion and consider themselves pro life. That is different from "criminalizing abortion".
I don't know any group trying to criminalize alcohol
The Assemblies of God, which Sarah Palin belongs to - wonder if Republican "Joe Sixpacks" knew about this?
Also the Traditional Values Coalition, an influential Religious Right group, And the Southern Baptist Coalition - isn't Huckabee a member of that group?
Not to mention that Mitt Romney belongs to an organization that officially forbids alcohol and homosexuality and has stepped into the political arena enough to the point that it should lose its tax-exempt status as a religion and officially be reclassified as a business.
There's also the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and MADD (which originally was not a neo-prohibitionist group but which has been turned into a new WCTU - an organization which still exists, BTW, even though they've chucked the white supremacist part of their platform and substituted homophobia in its place).
Also forgot to mention the Marin Institute and Pat Robertson.

or Homosexuality, or premarital sex etc.
Never heard of Focus On The Family or Robertson?
The Chalcedon Foundation wants to criminalize both, and one of its members, Howard Ahmanson, is one of the most influential donors to the religious right of the GOP.
Ahmanson is also a member of the Council On National Policy along with Gary Bauer, Pat Robertson, Oliver North, Phyllis Schlafly, and other Religious Right big names.

Technically, you're right.
He's running for re-election as a Republican but is still technically registered independent.
I don't know if you heard about the Virginia Greens last year breaking from the national Green Party and refusing to back Cynthia McKinney, instead officially endorsing a ticket of Ron Paul for President and Bloomberg for VP, done without either's consent?
I have NEVER heard anyone call the war in Iraq a "Crusade". Do you have a name of someone who did?
Rumsfeld and people in the DOD.
