I was about to say the same thing....I understand there was some serious support for this until WWII raised our level of concern about other things.

I noticed while driving through the Ashland/Medford area into Northern Calif a few years ago that the local NPR station refers to itself as "Jefferson Public Radio".

and Texas has been talking about seceding ever since they joined the Union but they haven't yet and add to that Montana & Idaho.
