BRUSSELS – Europe was leaning to the right Sunday as tens of millions of people voted in European Parliament elections, with conservative parties favored in many countries against a backdrop of economic crisis.

Opinion polling showed right-leaning governments with edges over their opposition in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and elsewhere. Conservative opposition parties were tied or ahead in Britain, Spain and some smaller countries.

Too Simplified....for example, the German "Conservatives" are more liberal on many issues than the American "Liberals" something to keep in mind, LOL. For example, they are NOT anti-choice, they are NOT pro death penalty, they are NOT anti single payer health insurance, they are FOR gun control.... and the list goes on.

this is good news, let's hope the European electorate moves to the Right even more, like the citizens of Israel for example. That way they can eliminate liberalism from policy-making, since it's liberalism that's destroying Europe.

Israel probably does the best job in of making right-wing politics the law of the State. Abortion is under government control in Israel and very difficult to arrange, far more than it is here. Israelis really know how to handle illegal aliens and immigration too.

Europe and the West should follow their lead to the Right.

I think we just celebrated an event that occurred the last time Europe turned as right as some Americans would like.

Don't get too excited. A European "conservative" is a like a liberal extremist in the USA.

The main issue motivating this voting trend is the increase in Islamic immigrants. The Europeans are worried that their culture is being taken over. For example. women are increasingly being called names (**** etc.) and even, raped, etc. for looking good in public.

Oh those Europeans are just being xenophobes. Why aren't Israelis pegged as "xenophobes" by the way?

I'm so proud of The Netherlands who really spoke up and voted largely in favor of Wilders (PVV) who wasn't allowed to enter the UK but is one the government officials and really is speaking out! He was allowed to speak in the USA and other countries but many countries are afraid of Wilders and are giving in to the muslim thread! he is trying to show the world that muslim woman don't have much to say and he is backed by muslims who are treatened with their life's for speaking out. He has 24/7 protection and the man has hardly a life just to get the word out!
