It isn't a matter of fear or discomfort. It's just disgusting. Cher's chubby daughter is going to intentionally have her genitals mutilated into something she apparently thinks is going to pass for a penis. I imagine they'll load her up with testosterone so she can grow some hair on her chest, get into bar fights and such. And when it's all done, she'll be a woman with a mustache and a horribly disfigured vagina.
Sounds like his surgery is already starting to have an impact on your life...
Hmm. Maybe. But I think it's much deeper than being secure or insecure. Just like a straight guy can't imagine what it's like to have gay interests, I don't think most of us can truly understand what it's like to feel conflicted about our gender unless we've experienced it ourselves.
I wanted to rep you again for that, but couldn't. So I do have an on-line friend who is transgendered and I've been trying to get her to CD since I got here. Will try again because I think she'd have much to contribute to the forum and to this thread in particular.
I'd say they are not real "common" because they are very expensive. My transgender friend is nearly sixty, has been living as female most of her life and has never even thought about having the surgeries that would make her completely, physically female.
Most of those deaths where on the battle field between soldiers and terrorists and not by drones.

If that will lead to a more satisfying life, she should do it. I think it's sad that she is clearly very uncomfortable as she is and has been for a long time. If this will make life better for her, then good for her.
I can't even imagine the internal struggle one has to go through before, during and after the gender reassignment process. Just to live with the notion that you were born into the completely wrong body is beyond what I can comprehend. I've always been very content and happy being a female, but on the other hand I've always had very 'male' oriented hobbies and occupations.
In addition, I've always thought Cher was stunningly gorgeous throughout her life and career. Of course, I also don't find many bottle blonde overly tanned girl attractive in the least bit, which it seems is the end all be all of beauty these days.
A spokesman for Bono, born a girl to Sonny and Cher, says he "has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity" and began the sex-change process earlier this year.
Publicist Howard Bragman said Bono is proud of his decision and hopes "that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue."
The 40-year-old writer, activist and reality-TV star came out as gay 20 years ago, Bragman said.
In the book "Family Outing: A Guide to the Coming-Out Process for Gays, Lesbians, & Their Families," Bono describes the realization of being "somehow different — specifically different from who my mom expected me to be."
A message left with Cher's representatives was not immediately returned Thursday.
