What a thought, elected representatives are actually representing their districts, instead of blindly toeing the party line. We need more of that from members of BOTH parties.
Agreed. Politicians are not doing their jobs if all they do is vote the way their respective Parties vote like a dog on a leash.
Keep in mind that as a senator, Obama voted with Bush something like 85% of the time...
Per the Congressional Quarterly Record,
Obama voted 40% of the time in line with Bush in 2007.
And 45% of the time in 2006.
So if you add those together it comes to 85%, but adding them together is kind of meaningless.
