I have no expectations of you. The American Health care system has always treated me very well, best in the world. Whether I was recieving free care at the VA or Medicaide or Using my private insurance BSBS.

Best in the world

hands down
Sorry,,, what part of Venus is the USA in?
The USA is like any other Industrialised Nation except it has one of the worst health care systems in the world..... our world, not this imaginary world that some people think America belongs to.
You have absolutely NO IDEA of how a UHC works or is financed..yet you know its shortcomings...Exactly how do you know its shortcomings????????
Graduate from the closed minded institute, I suppose.

I LOVE America. In fact from reading some of the anti UHC posts i think i love Americans more than some of these selfish posters.
I am Lucky i live in the UK half of the year and get great health care. Millions of Americans can't do that but they dread the thought of becoming ill. I'm NOT the one who hates Americans, I want every single American to get great Healthcare, slender.........DO YOU?

I could show you hospitals in the US that make those seem so-so and it really proves nothing. But I have alos read of the dumps and the difference in the area. It does take wacth the house of lords very logn wither to hear the complaints of patients representives or those on waiting list. A expample pof our his the veterans hospitals like wlter reddd which was investiagted by congress. But even those didn't have the wards and things liike torn window coverings seen in many UK hospitals or the descriptions of care by many americans such as a recent mother. A ward of 12 women;less testing than with her other baby. The ward was in pretty bad shape and noisey with visiting hours really bad so she was glad of limited father visits;her baby was not delivered by a doctor attending and no doctor after the baby delivered. She descibed the nurse practioner as pretty bad not seeming to know squat or be able to answer questions.Basically she thought the hospital was something out of teh 50's and it was in London. Fro the torn curtails i the ward room you could ahve mistaken it for a scene fro war time London.Sounded just like the investigation in to government owned Walter Reed hospital recently. No one is gripionhg baout our porivte hospitals or has to show just a few of thousands upoin thpousands. All you have to do is go to houston and a waiting room at MD Anderson and see the international patients that come there for treatment from all over the world.

All this time I thought I was pretty far to the left. Until I came across all of these UHC threads at CD. After reading dozens and dozens of your posts, you are not a liberal, you are a staunch Socialist. One of the great freedoms we have is our right to choose. If UHC is implemented, we lose our right to choose. That's not freedom!

Now i KNOW you aren't serious.
First of all, visits to the emergency room are no substitute for regular care, which can identify and treat health problems before they get acute. And more than 40 percent of uninsured adults have no regular source of care.
while it’s true that hospitals will treat anyone who arrives in an emergency room with an acute problem — and it’s wonderful that they will — it’s also true that hospitals bill patients for emergency-room treatment. And fear of those bills often causes uninsured Americans to hesitate before seeking medical help, even in emergencies, as the Monique White story illustrates.
The end result is that the uninsured receive a lot less care than the insured. And sometimes this lack of care kills them. According to a recent estimate by the Urban Institute, the lack of health insurance leads to 27,000 preventable deaths in America each year.

Since when is it a right to choose when a Insurance Company tells you exactly what you can or can't have as far as treatment is concerned. A insurance Company that says you are refused a OP or a simple test. A insurance Company that says you are denied cover because you are Diabetic or have a heart complaint. So THIS is your freedom to choose huh?
