I do recall however when Jesse Jackson appeared on the street in Adams Morgan...talk about a popular guy...it was a total love fest mob scene...but for Marion Berry, um, no, not so much.

um, he was re-elected, and he's still involved with DC politics. he's a democrat icon for the city, and an icon for democrats in general.

I'll take false for $200, Alex

Berry is by no means considered a democract icon. If it were up to me, he wouldn't have any place in our party, and I know I'm one of many who feel that way.

Where do you come up with this crap? Barry, like many small time rural Mayor's is loved by a small section of DC residents. He is in no way an icon for Dems in general. Did you see him anywhere during this or any national election? Nope. Some folks in DC will forever be loyal to the man because he gave people opportunities that never had them. To break it down further, many teens(people now in there 30s like myself) will always appreciate Barry for always making sure that every kid in DC had a summer job.

I thought you would know that as a supposed D.C. resident

yup, he is like many small time rural mayors. except he was mayor of the most influential city in the US, smoked crack with a hooker, and was re-elected. I guess you could say that there is a difference.

And how does that make him a democratic icon? Answer. It doesn't..Move on to new nonsense. Everyone knows you have an endless supply.
