You have yet to justify your claim that defense is the ONE thing REQUIRED of government by the Constitution.
Ive been working old buddy, to answer your question , If defending our nation doesnt fall under the (general welfare) that you claim justifies everthing under the sun, I dont know what does?

Doesn't need to fall under general welfare, the common defense was also mentioned. That's not the point. You said defense was the ONE thing REQUIRED of government, funny but I can't find that Article/Section.

I don't have to fabricate anything. I see someone claim that we should subsidize the airline industry because it affects the overall economy yet the government shouldn't get involved in heathcare issues which also affect the overall economy.
THAT's inconsistent and confusing and I didn't fabricate one dang word of it.
Still confused , you are, my young padawan, if refer to me you do...
I think your last sentence hit the nail on the head sunny, many of us dont aspire to (a great PROGRESSIVE society)! Just curious are you on duty as a moderator on this forum?
Thanks, Silas.
Moderators should be held to some standard of sobriety and conduct, or at least keep their kids off the computer...
"you are, my young padawan, if refer to me you do..."
THAT's an intelligent and/or constructive statement?
Is padawan even an English word?
It is intelligent, but to clarify, "You are erroneously and repeatedly attributing a contention to me that I have not made. You can reduce your confusion level by reading others' posts, and attempting to understand the content, rather than pulling a few syllables out of context and mistakenly, relentlessly repeating your error like an Orc beating his drum deep in the Mines of Moria."
The sentence you cite above is a take-off from popular culture. "Star Wars" was a fairly successful multi-media entertainment project for a gentleman named George Lucas, and a few other participants.
This Wikipedia entry translates a few terms into English for you. I even spelled "padawan" right without using the Universal Translator.
Oh.... Orcs and Mines of Moria. More popular culture. J. R. R. Tolkien's Trilogy. Dwarves. Elves. Hobbits. Monsters. Wizards. Warfare. Good overcoming evil, at heart-breaking cost to the good. I think those are English words, as the Author composed in the King's Lingo. (The fragments of sentences are noted and will remain. They are not intended to further confuse you.)
I thought these references were cogent as we were discussing Universal Healthcare and the abject fantasy of it improving the median level of healthcare in the US.
If you hate fun, I apologize for the popular culture references and will endeavor to avoid such in the future.
Upon further review(Oh, man. My bad... It's a football-media related phrase), I believe my work here is done.
I sincerely hope you have a great day!
