GWB never sent troops to war, congress did. And your liberal congress could have blocked it if they voted against it but they did not.
And now they are in control for 2 1/2 years and have done nothing to reverse their bad decision to make up for not reading the information and voting anyway.
You have no clue how things even work but still post something.
Congress voted for a resolution to go to war as a last result after all aspects of diplomacy had been exhausted. Hillary Clinton and other Dems addressed the issue right after the vote, claiming it was one of the hardest votes they ever had in their career. They stressed the trust they had in Bush to follow this route. Instead he kicked the inspectors out of Iraq and went in after phony WMD.
You have answers without knowing procedures and protocol. You'd be accused by conservatives of unnecessary spending by compensating Iraqi non-combat civilian casualties at the expense of monies that are needed here in the U.S.
My point is everyone criticizes the president without knowing the actual ins and outs of how this type of thing is done, but you seem to have the answers. Every new president learns on the job. Maybe you can teach them.
Of course I don't know the ins and outs of the presidency of the United States; but I still know enough to evaluate 2 different withdrawl plans and have an opinion of which one will work best.
As for the conservatives acusing me of unnecessary spending, I really could care less. It was their idea to get us into this multibillion dollar war without any provocation. I'd accuse them of unneessary spending right back.
PURE IGNORANCE is the only way to describe the OP.
"On the eve of the 30th of June 2009 in accord with a security agreement between Iraq and America, Iraqis take the lead in Baghdad," Bolger said.
Yep, that's right. It's in accordance with the security pact signed by the United States and Iraq under George Bush. Ascribing any "thanks" to Barack Obama is more proof that liberals are very shallow and very gullible. More wool has been pulled over their collective eyes in the name of "change." Sheeple, I believe, is a very accurate term.
Straight from the horses mouth (ie. US-Iraq Security Agreement text)
"Upon their withdrawal, the United States Forces shall return to the Government of
Iraq all the facilities and areas provided for the use of the combat forces of the United
States, based on two lists. The first list of agreed facilities and areas shall take effect
upon the entry into force of the Agreement. The second list shall take effect no later than
June 30, 2009, the date for the withdrawal of combat forces from the cities, villages, and
localities. The Government of Iraq may agree to allow the United States Forces the use
of some necessary facilities for the purposes of this Agreement on withdrawal."
Guess what day it is? You guessed it. THANKS GOES TO GEORGE BUSH, NOT BARACK OBAMA.
That's pretty funny. In your world, 9-11 while on Bush's watch, was Clinton's fault. But the withdrawal of U.S. troops, while on Obama's watch, should clearly be credited to Bush.
Is there anything you guys aren't hypocritical about?
"Even though the resolution before the Senate is not as strong as I would like in requiring the diplomatic route firstand placing highest priority on a simple, clear requirement for unlimited inspections, I will take the President at his word that he will try hard to pass a UN resolution and will seek to avoid war, if at all possible."
"My vote is not, however, a vote for any new doctrine of pre-emption, or for uni-lateralism, or for the arrogance of American power or purpose -- all of which carry grave dangers for our nation, for the rule of international law and for the peace and security of people throughout the world."
"So it is with conviction that I support this resolution as being in the best interests of our nation. A vote for it is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President and we say to him - use these powers wisely and as a last resort."

The GOP's worst nightmare, the Iraqis celebrating our departure.
