Despite how any Republican might feel about JFK, FDR, or LBJ, it is hard to imagine one being so petty.
For all of you who don't want to read the story, some Congressional Democrats are talking about renaming Ronald Reagan airport in DC. It's not like choosing NOT to name an airport after him, but they are basically saying, "your legacy is so screwed up, we owe you no respect as a President." It is unbelievable how low the Democrats are willing to go, it makes me sick. Ronald Reagan was a truly great President, and while some disagree with his policies even today, he is owed some respect, especially in death.
I would never ever support renaming JFK airport because I might have disagreed with his policies.
It is truly pathetic what the Dems are trying to do... I hope we hear more about this, because some names need to be named.

Reagan did not end the Cold War. And he restored no national "sense of self respect after Vietnam." Are you kidding me?

Go name an airport in Utah or Oklahoma.... Reagan Airport. Wise Americans don't need to put up with your right wing dogma that says Reagan was a good President.
And BTW JFK Airport is in a Democratic blue area as well. They have the George Bush Turnpike in Dallas...isnt' this good enough for you?

Of course he was. He was horrible. Only under the dementia that reigned during Reagan could this country have lost its values to such a degree. All you have to do is look at the popular culture during the 80s: "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," "Dynasty," etc.
Within three months of Clinton's election, those families living in cardboard boxes? Gone. And not because they froze to death. Under Clinton, the social services stripped under Reagan were restored.

Actually he did.. Remember we had a very lengthy Vietnam War ending with a nasty defeat, followed by Watergate which revealed an extensive crime network under Nixon, followed by another pair of presidential blunders - "Pardon me" Ford and of course Jimmy Carter. After what had happened in the 20 or so years prior to Reagan taking office, his 1980 campaign was music to the ears of demoralized Americans. He restored faith in the presidency and restored American confidence - Hence his high approval ratings, dual landslides, and his post-murtom climb to the #9 spot on the best presidents of all time list.

Crawford – a former District Council member and Marion Barry confidante – told fellow Board members that he has heard talk on Capitol Hill about yanking former President Ronald Reagan’s name off the local airport and returning it to its previous generic moniker: National Airport.
“It was just a discussion. We’re not aware of anything specific,” MWAA spokeswoman Tara Hamilton later told The Examiner.
