I really believe that people with narcisstic personality disorder are attracted to the political arena. Look how many politicians (and yes, palin) have been caught in blatant lies, or in corruption scandals or sex scandals. And we the public have enabled this subset of 'off' people - how often do we say 'all politicians lie' or the infamous 'vote for the lesser of two evils'. We the people have set up a situation where pathological liars/sociopaths are allowed to flourish as leaders of our country. How sick! We need to start holding our elected officials accountable for their lies and for their monetary 'indiscretions' regardless of their party ties. Until we are ready to do that we are dooming ourselves to be ruled by very damaged and very untrustworthy people.

A liar could lie exactly that many lies if a liar could lie lies.

I've only ever met two people who, AFAIK are incapable of telling even a little lie for convenience's sake.

But, when someone tells a lie so big, so obvious that even the simplest of Simons can fact check it and call the liar out, there's something amiss in the liar's psychological make up. When someone tells a lie that's so petty and inconsequential that it's difficult to see the motive behind the lie, there's something wrong in the liar.

When we encounter these people in everyday life we try to avoid them. I once had an emploee who was like this, it's the first time that I can recall ever encountering, and using the phrase pathological liar. In normal circumstances I would have counseled him (did that), written him up (didn't do that-useless) and then terminated him, couldn't do that, he was a nephew of the company owner!

Sometimes we refer to these people as psychopaths. These two phrases are what we lay people use to "psychoanalyze" and explain things that seem to be so out of whack that there can be no rational explanation for.

The strange thing about this "disorder" (no I'm not a shrink, but I can read a DMSO) is that it's often associated with narcissistic personality disorder or histrionic personality disorder. The funny thing is that these people don't even realize that they're lying.

Having watched the "thrilla from Wasilla" on July 3 and yesterday, I can completely believe it.

Turns out that the "millions the state has spent defending against the frivolous ethics charges from Democrats and the east coast liberal elites", breaks down like this; (source, Anchorage Daily News)

1. It's not millions! It's less than $300,000.
2. A big chunk of $ had to do with Troopergate-that started before she was picked as VP.
3. The most expensive one was one she filed regarding Troopergate, hoping it would exonerate her.
4. All but one of the complaints were filed by Alaskans, not the "east coast media and Dems".
5. The rest were filed by Republicans, 4 by one former ally who thought Palin was cutting ethical corners, using a private email account, etc.
6. As far as "all of them being unjustified", wrong again, she had to pay back $8,000 for the state flying her kids around.

Lie big, lie small, it doesn't matter to her backers on Fox and C-D. The lies have no grown into "accepted facts" and no one is the "media" is going to call her on them. Maybe Jon Stewart will call her out when he gets back from vacation. The MSM doesn't have the balls to do it.

I would wait for the day that not a single democrat tells a lie before I call out any republican for telling a lie. Didnt you know your house must be clean 1st

Better than "pullin' an upton," will be remembered far longer, too. And the hatred of the left continues... or, is it simply jealousy?

According to some Conservative analysts, it was an "strategic move", they just can't quite figure out what the strategy was. I am sure there was some careful consideration there, after all we are talking about Palin, a woman of genius. I am sure she thought long and hard before making this "strategic" decision
