How often is a car used to purposely kill someone?

"How often is a car used to purposely kill someone?"

Pretty frequently, actually...vehicular homicide is not an isolated incident

Due to intent, not negligence. There is a big difference.

nea1 was suggesting that "accidental" shootings would increase, thus the accurate analogy with death by vehicle.

The word "homicide" means intent...homicide = murder.

No, it doesn't. Homicide merely means to kill a human being. It says absolutely nothing about intent.

Less. This is a documented fact. Re: see John Lott's "More Guns, Less Crime".

Not really sure where the semantics argument is going here...ok, I'll amend my other post to say "vehicular murder", thus implying intent, if that suits ya.

Vehicular homicide includes drunk driving statistics. Drunk drivers are idiots, but they're not intentionally killing people. That's my point.

Whoa, be very careful when you compare drunk drivers to people who kill another with a gun. A vehicle is a powerful tool, like a gun, and combining alcohol with operating that powerful tool is just as bad as taking out a gun and shooting someone! Probably better not cross into this territory here...my question is, then, would you feel that a drunken driver who just killed a family should be held less accountable than a man who killed a convenience store clerk in a robbery? Why or why not? (This is a genuine question).
