I would have thought you would have some examples of these really stupid things. And a sensible argument as to why they were stupid perhaps.

The purpose of that post was to introduce some fairness and balance to this thread. May I ask if you considered the OP to be an example of fairness? At least numbers 7, 8, 10, 15, 17, 21, 22, and 24 are outright falsehoods. Others such as 12 and 13 contain outright falsehoods. Is simply lying about people what you would call fair?

No, not anything Republican. But darn near everything that's been Republican lately. Can you blame me?

"Decent" and "stupid" are merely opinions formed from your idealogical point of view...let's not try to pretend the OP's list was any less biased against liberal/democratic idealogy (and some of it was utter nonsense to boot). Just as the glass can either be half empty or full, you kind of see what your eyes want to see.

But yeah...city data, the only place I know on the interweb where many of the posters (and sometimes the moderators) are even more obnoxious and combative than I am.

And the queen of england can go to the deuce for all I care. What's she do? Nothing important...

I own a trucking company. Please explain to me how cap and trade will help me. And you said a mouthful when you said "if you cannot be efficient then maybe you shouldn't be in buisness". Alot of companies will not be efficient enough to meet these standards and will relocate to other countries, downsize to offset costs, or go out of buisness. All this green stuff in theory sounds great, but in reality it does not work well, especially in a serious reccession.

Only 1360 (+/-) more FRIGHTENING days to go...
First off, your list includes a lot of "non-issues" as far as I'm concerned (who he's saluting, bowing to, kissing, etc.). The fact is that whether Obama or McCain would have been elected, the mess that the Bush administration left for either successor is enormous. Frankly, it might take 20-30 years to clean up, maybe more. Furthermore, the people living today (especially, the working age group) has to deal with issues that previous generations and administrations kept pushing towards the future. The future is now here and we are stuck dealing with them whether we want to or not. We have no other choice. Those issues are healthcare reform, social security, medicare, and more. Partisan politics are not going to solve anything.

You are right - Bush left one horrendous mess - if you read about his life - it's a recurring theme with the man...

And you are right - no matter who took office - the economic near-depression he left us with would be playing out for over a year no matter who was in the Oval Office.

I think he's doing a good job - and that it will take time for his policies to turn things around...

In the meantime - expect a lot of negative posts from the Obama Haters - the Ditto Heads of the world...

Good thing is the country has come to ignore them and the GOP - they've witnessed first hand what a mess their ilk has left this country in - and I doubt they will trust them for another generation to lead this nation...

Obama will get us back on the road to recovery - but it will take time - 2 years in my opinion...

I would have to say that he is a failure so far. Everything that the lefties say Bush failed at, Obama has made worse. We are headed for rampant recession, hyper-inflation and the stimulus bill is anything but stimulating. He has made our country weaker both fiscally and by apologizing and cow-towing to foreign governments. I love how some folks think it will take years to clean up the Bush mess, what about the Obama mess? It will take generations upon generations to clear this red tape and pork up.

My only hope is that future administrations realize "Here is what not to do" when taking over. Then again, they did not learn from the Carter disaster obviously.

Let's be honest, OP. You would be ranting about any Democrat. You disagree with Obama's basic philosophy, ergo you believe he is doing poorly.

Generally speaking, liberals prefer a nuanced, intelligent approach to foreign dignitaries and conservatives prefer a strong-willed, black-and-white approach. Both have their place, but what you see as groveling and apologizing is nothing more than acknowledging mistakes and working with people rather than dictating to them (must I bring up Bush kissing the Saudi King?)

Many of your other claims are not at all what Obama said. You have twisted reality to suit your partisan view and it's rather useless.

btw - the Queen of England LOVES the Obamas and, per a press release, was not offended in any way. Let's focus on facts, shall we?

We either have a Carter or an FDR. Only time and, frankly, extenuating circumstances beyond anyone's control, will dictate which. The only reason I think we might have an FDR is the situation Obama adopted.

Carter came into office after years of rampant liberalism and tried to fix it with more liberalism. That's why he failed.

Obama, like FDR, comes into office after years of rampant conservatism and is trying to balance things out. That's why FDR succeeded and, hopefully, Obama will too.
