Approval ratings are everything. Nobody came close to the record setting 90% by George W Bush in Sept 2001, a record likely to stay intact for a while. I will have to say, him.
Apparently you were clueless during the Regan years. He altered the inflation numbers by excluding gas prices and other items that made it look bad. so you got these false reports about the economy. He had the WORSE dept of Interior James Watt that was a disaster to the environment... he was a fundamentalist that thought the second coming was going to happen so why not trash the Earth.
You had Aids show its head in 81 and he never addressed it until 1986. after many thousands had been infected... apparently you don't recall the effort extended on a few old legionnaires when they died.
Regan had trickle down economics. It didn't work under him and really didn't under W. He spent like no previous president, then W showed him he was an amateur. His methods for addressing issues was widely adapted i later administrations where they simply lied to the people and mislead them long enough to distract them until they forgot.
Regan was a disaster. only surpassed by W. The track record of republican presidents has been wretched in the last 40 years yet so many still support this party.. what is everyone thinking? Why not opt to a third party that really supports your beliefs? the reps haven't in years.
I can't believe so many hold onto the Reagan myth...The same people that complain about the massive deficits are the same ones that support the father of the modern massive deficits (Reagan).
Ronald Reagan. He became President at the time when the country needed him the most.
