Gerald Celente of Trends Research Institute is predicting dire things for our future (food riots, tax protests, strikes, high unemployment, tent cities, empty malls, et cetera).

For those interested, here's a video of his most recent appearance on FOX outlining his predictions about the coming Obamageddon.

And what was the likelihood of someone appearing on FOX to say good things about the Obama administration? Surprise--there wasn't a chance!

Celente used to work in politics before becoming a "political agnostic". But, shooting the messenger is always helpful to defuse the message.

In addition, this is Fox Business, not Fox News. Typically more libertarian and anti-GOP.

Yes, some people are full of predictions these days. Most of them were also full of predictions over the last several years. So far, I have YET to see any of their predictions actually come true. What is interesting is when one listens to people making such predictions they almost seem as if they want them to come true, now that is truely sad. If you are doing nothing but whining about lossing the election, or whining about how tough things are or might get, then you are nothing more than part of the problem. If, on the otherhand, you have any rational ideas on how to deal with any of the major issues facing us, by all means be part of the solution, pass it on to others so that they can get it considered or do it yourself. One is either part of the problem or part of the solution, predicting doom and gloom makes one part of the first.

Celente predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union (in the late 80s), the 1987 stock market crash, and some other big events. It's not just the predictions, it's the detail of the predictions.

There's every reason to expect events like kidnapping in the US. Federal agencies will be under strain with little to no money (as foreigners stop buying debt), and criminals who are poor and destitute will have little to lose. Any banana republic has this problem, and the US is no exception to this.

You haven't been paying attention. Quite a few said the pseudo-stimulus would not work.

But you are right in one respect - obama's predictions about unemployment in conjunction with the stimulus have definitely NOT come true.

I love the way FOX News supports the "Political Fantasy Writers of America".
