I find it interesting that the only people who are absolutely sure that the U.S. had nothing to do with those attacks base their assumption on love of country.
It's simply very easy to be convinced of anything when you believe your government can do no evil.
I wish conservatives would uphold the same skepticism of government regarding this matter as they do all others, for it's truly not an issue of ideology.
I learned about it, found there were too many unanswered questions, and have accepted that some of own people (contractors? government agencies?) who had a great deal to gain from a new war were not surprised that September morning.
Usually the truth lies between the extremes, and, for the record, I doubt Bush knew anything.

Yeah those right wingers over at popular mechanics are in on it too!!

Just from looking at the 7 minutes that Bush just sat there in the schoolroom after being apprised of the plane (s) hitting the building (s), do you think his inaction was . .
There has not been enough investigation for anything conclusive. The 9/11 Commission was a joke. Too many things were suspect and why did a wealth of information come pouring out of the TV within minutes after the tragedy occurred and yet nothing done beforehand? NORAD was practically making u-turns in the sky and the tapes of air traffic control somehow wound up in the garbage. Bin Laden's family was flown out of the U.S. before they could be questioned and the WTC was not treated as a crime scene. There are so many reasons to open up a new invesigation and why are people so afraid to do so? If not an inside job, it might have a just let it happen job...another Pearl Harbor to incite people to want to go after someone to punish. They named bin Laden but went after Saddam. Connect the dots.

He was told of the first plane, which was thought to have been an accident. What should he have done - jumped up and starting waving hysterically?

1. Duh, what should I do?
2. Didn't think they'd actually do it?
3. Didn't think they'd actually pull it off?
4. Now, when am I going to be told what to do?
Even though I am far from a Bush supporter, I actually think that conservatives make a somewhat convincing argument in "FahrenHype 9/11" that Bush is actually communicating with his staff through eye contact.
Either way, it's a small point and should not cloud the bigger issues of that day.
I'm sorry. Do people who believe this actually vote? If so...I now know what the f-ing problem is. WTF? Seriously...
