Almost on a daily basis there are threads about how the GOP is dead and/or dying and has no hope as a national party. I was curious so I decided to look at the governors and their party affiliations; I assumed that if the naysayers were correct, it'd be something like 38-12 in favor of dems, but it's actually 28-22. There are only 6 more democratic governors then republican, and according to all of the polls, NJ and VA will go republican, closing the gap even more to 24-26. Perception is not always reality. Just sayin'

One look at the map, plus the knowledge that only 24% call themselves Republicans, should answer your question.

Although, by Obama turning out to be another Corporate Dem. (vs the Progressive he was elected as), I for one do not believe the GOP is dead forever.

It appears that you've contradicted yourself in your own post. That's gotta be some kind of record.

No, I'd re-read it, concentrating on the words "dead forever".
