I'd give Canada a pass; go to Italy.

What draft are we talking about? The one that was proposed by Democratic senator Rangel (and subsequently voted down by the Republican dominated senate at the time)?

Bush has never, never proposed the draft. You really didn't think you would get away with posting such garbage do you?

(sorry to dignify this post, this is a duplicate thread, but I just couldn't ignore such ignorance)

What is with the two anti war threadds from you?
Even though there are plenty out here that do not agree with still being in Iraq, that IN NO WAY IMPLIES that we do not support our troops! How nice of you to start offending all of the people on this board that has loved ones over there

That was brilliant on Rangel's part.

There was no way it would ever pass because those passing it would have been sending their own sons and daughters off to war, no deferments or twistings of class and privilege like we saw in the Vietnam War.

Knocked old bushie's back door draft ideas right out of the water. Rangel rocks.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

These people fighting for your freedom are not "KIDS". I KNOW they don't appreciate being called kids and they are doing a job that they signed up and trained hard for.

They are teaching the people of Iraq how to be self sufficient while at the same time protecting them from Iran sponsored insurgence.

The only fighting going on at this point is defence against the bad guys.

All due respect to Nea.

FALSE CAUSE!

You have a right to your opinion but your opinion, if thought out at all, is based on misinformation provide by NBC and CNN.

I feel sorry for people that can't understand what allows you and me to be able to even talk like this without our computers turning off and our children harassed and losing our jobs.

THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rangel was clearly making a racial and class statement, but as far as some countermove to Bush's attempt to reinstate the draft? - I am not going to even ask how that could possibly make sense.

This proves that many dems don't do their research before spouting.

Yeah and get the "oh it was to prevent from Bush reinstating it through the back door" theory response. HAHAHAHA
I enjoy lively debate from both parties, but then you get these blind I HATE BUSH comments. None of them make much sense. These people don't understand the issues, they don't understand the topics, they don't understand the any type of middle ground. They just know they hate Bush.

The reason Rangel (who comfortably lives in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue while his constituents live in Harlem) Proposed a draft is because he and Sharpton thought that there were a disproportionate amount of minorities joining the military and wanted more white people to join. That's all.
