Man burst into flames after Taser strike | The Daily Telegraph

Maybe they need to update the technology a bit, don't you think?

No I don't think they should update the technology. If a man douses himself with gasoline I can tell you his intentions are not good.

Maybe these idiots will think twice about doing stupid stuff like that so they don't get tased in the first place. And if they don't and continue to disregard the law, the warning is you will be flamebroiled. If I were the cop I would've let him cook....minus 1 scumbag from planet earth...millions more to go.

Sheesh! The next thing you know, someone will spill hot coffee on their lap and then sue the store that sold it.

Oh, wait...that already happened!

I take it your a conservative christian?

Hundreds of people have died from being tasered. Anyone with a few firing brain cells would see that using the SAME process as an AED/Defibulator WILL cause deaths.

Tasers have also been heavily misused as well, from punative punishment for not immediatly obeying a cop (a "chase-rage" style of attack on citizens) to tasering someone to get DNA evidence in Niagara County, NY.

Tasers are certainly a valuable tool, IF USED CORECTLY, for our law enforcment officers. But their use needs to be seriously examined and highly regulated.

I suggest a full investigation every time one is deployed, much like the types of investigations used with the deployment of a service weapon, complete with administrative leave, as well as regular and heavy training in taser use,t he same recieved for firearm use.

I think cops are taser happy - they might as well shoot them in the foot. Would cause less damage.

DANG! That's the first time I've heard of someone tasered being turned into a crispy critter for real. Usually it just makes them dance the funky chicken!

FTR, the woman who sued McD's over the hot coffee required skin grafts because she had third degree burns...

As for the topic... the Pyro in me is still hopeful for a video. There's no need to update technology... the man had flammable substances on him. Highly flammable + spark = FIRE!
