Well so far he wants everyone to have access to medical care, wants to stimulate the economy, and wants us to break our dependence on oil and is throwing his support behind R & D for hybrid automobiles.

He WANTS to lead us in the right direction, I have no doubt about that. The problem is there is a significant number of people who do not want to follow him, or even recognize his position as leader. And instead of working with him they just want to destroy him and anyone who agrees with him, about anything.

It's a tricky time to be President.

It's not all black and white. The poll should have had one (or more) middle option(s).

I went ahead and voted for "wrong direction," BUT I think your wording is a bit overdramatic.

On George Bush's last day in office, only 27% of Americans said we were on the right track. Today, it's 42%. That's a significant improvement, and I'm confident that things will continue to get better.

Yeah, maybe. Although - compared to the last 8 years, any change of direction is a good thing. So ...

Setting the bar towards Dubya shows how bad the Obama/Bush team really is.

I purposely only had two options. I want to know what people on this board think if they had to say simply right direction or wrong direction. IMO, people that don't already have an opinion just aren't paying attention.

I didn't think we were on the right track then either.
