For the White House, it's critical to keep the drug lobby either neutral or
in its camp, given the muscle that the pharmaceutical industry is able to
flex. PhRMA is watching the administration closely to make sure it sticks to its deal.
"I'm going to be as honest as I can be. I'm keeping my eye on the ball... We
have made an $80 billion commitment toward improving patient care and
we're sticking to it," said Johnson.
This could turn out to be a really good strategic move on Obama's part... He'll have Big Pharma on his side in the Health Care Reform Debate and Big Pharma does indeed carry a lot of clout in the Health Care Industry, without a doubt...

Maybe a deal for different drugs ?
More like big Pharma making multiple deals so it doesn't get left out in the cold ?
I'm not happy that Hatch's deal gives them a 12 year exclusive over generic drugs..more then the normal timeframe.

I am afraid we will have to agree to well agree...
The gubment has been kissing pharma's hiney for a very long time.
NIH funds research . . . and then when there is a breakthrough, pharma gets the patent.
I have been screaming about this for years.
Then the American public, who underwrote the research thru/ NIH, gets gouged over the drug's price once it is on the market.
Talk about a honey of a deal for pharma . . .
