The men were charged with violating the settlement which happened to have been about prayer. The settlement could have been about anything. Those are the facts. You said they were on trial for praying period. That's not true and you spun the story to fit your beliefs.

That said, the Supreme Court has said that the Constitution prohibits prayer in schools. The Constitution is the law of the land, the Supreme Court is the interpreter of how that law is applied.

As for bigotry against Christians, I know many, many Christians who do not support prayer in public schools or anything else public, for that matter. Some of these people are ministers.

No I didn't - you have the freedom to "worship". You can worship a ham sandwich for all I care, but not in a public school.

A plug for Americans for the Separation of Church and State:

Americans United for Separation of Church and State

I think it's enough of a problem to support this group.

But, that's me...

Default And just to be clear....

I don't agree that criminal charges are warranted based on the information in this article. Disciplinary action - yes - such as job termination. I can't help but wonder if these suggested penalties like "jail time" are more spin by the writer. Jail time would certainly be over the top in my opinion.

I took a bible study course in high school AND college.... of course, there's a difference between studying the bible as literature, and studying it 'as the word of god'. You cannot force belief on anyone, try as you might. The more I read the bible, the more my disbelief grew.

Not in my lifetime. Or my parents. Or maybe it's just the part of the country we live in.

In any event, it shouldn't be done NOW since we don't have a population where "one size fits all" when it comes to faith.

Oh...oh...oh Part of your plan for the end of the world. Oh, I get it now. That's what you meant. I thought you meant we had some sort of plan to get you guys or something.

Nope, the NAMBLA chapter doesn't have the gay agenda. They have their own agenda.

My mother had a Principal that read over the Load speaker a section of the New Testiment everyday, and he was Jewish. That was in the 40s, and it was in Brooklyn, NY.

Here in Tennessee there were bible course being offered in Wilson County(Suburb of Nashville) but there were complaints about it, and that was last year.
