Do you understand that influenza viruses mutate, which is why we need a new flu vaccine every year? Your comment that you'll wait 2-3 years makes no sense at all.
And for the past 2-3 years they've picked the wrong flu.
Definitely no vaccine for me. I don't need a third eye developing down the road, and that could be the best case scenario.
I will be one of the first to get the normal flu vaccine because ever since I turned 65 the county health people have been all over me to get the flu shot and I haven't had any flu since I became a Medicare redipient.
Of course, I won't be getting this one because I will be toward the end of people getting it because of rationing and the fact that old people are on the bottom end of this scale.
Those of you who have children need to discuss the risks and benefits of this vaccine with your pediatrician. Your children will be exposed to the H1N1 virus.

Normal flu hits the young and the old so you are at the top of the list for that shot.
Swine flu seems to be hitting young adults and especially hard hit are pregnant women so they are being targeted first for the new shots.

There is no freakin way I am getting a vaccine that has NO long term testing for my children. Not a chance.

I've never had a flu shot. The only time that I wish that I had gotten one was three years back when I broke my ankle. No one should sit in the urgent care at Johns Hopkins during flu season without a flu shot. I've never heard such hacking in all my life. I kept waiting for the flu to develop after that visit, but by some miracle I was spared.

That is your choice as the parent. I hope you will make the most informed decision by discussing this with your children's doctor.
