You are correct. Another reason not to hang on every word from either station (as many people do).
True, and I regularly hear comments from Olbermann and Maddow that are clearly not true. I know they're doing it to play to their target audience, but I'm not crazy about it.
I saw that report yesterday. They showed the black guy with the gun very clearly. In fact, I was surprised that they showed his face so much. Newsbusters edited the video to exclude that part.
Don't be so gullible, people.
Newsbusters edited that thing? Come on the "reporters" were MSNBC people and they were trying to shift the story to whites carrying weapons because of racism because Obama is not a white man. That was just too sad for me.
I liked the CNN version much better although I am sure that MSNBC may need to hire Rick Sanchez from CNN since he is more like their people.
Rick Sanchez would always be easy to take in on a story like that. He is the main reason I just won't watch CNN in the afternoon. Now Ed Henry who Sanchez was using himself isn't too bad as a newsman.
I can't read the minds of the people at MSNBC, so I'll accept the possibility that they had their own agenda during that conversation about the video, but I absolutely know that they showed the black guy with the gun because: 1) He stood out from the crowd and I thought, "Wow, that's a black guy with a gun!", and 2) I found him sort of attractive. In fact, they showed his face for at least several seconds. They weren't trying to hide it.
I admit I do remember also thinking, "Gee, it seems odd that they're not mentioning the fact that it's a black guy with a gun." I had that thought because, again, he definitely stood out from the crowd.
I saw that video and saw them show his face and the fact that he was black. I also don't know why they were only talking about the white people who had guns, but they definitely showed that that particular guy was black.

That's quite an allegation. They regularly make comments that are clearly not true? I dispute that and would ask you to provide cites that show where either of them don't speak truthfully, particularly "regularly". I've heard Maddow on a handful of occasions come back and make corrections when she's unintentionally gotten something wrong, but it's been rare, and I always see her back up her statements with sound clips or images of the websites she's referencing, etc.
I'm not one to normally defend MSNBC, but I watched Chris Matthews yesterday and they did clearly show that it was a black man with the AR-15, they also mentioned another unidentified man with one.

Yes, my impression is that they do exaggerate. I guess if I didn't call it "regularly", I would at least call it "occasionally". I prefer Ed Schultz and Chris Matthews because they usually have guests with opposing views. With Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, it's very one-sided.

Thank you. It's likely that it was during Hardball that I saw the video where, as you said, the black guy was shown very clearly and conspicuously.
MSNBC....the real FAUX news....as in fake news, as in deliberately contrived news. Not only fake, but let's throw in the race card for good measure, since we all know anyone who opposes Obama on any level must be racist.
MSNBC isn't exactly the most professional news outlet. But they do admit they are completely biased. This guy was a libertarian, BTW, and this was a staged event.
