An economics professor made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism would work and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

------------

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that.

If somebody is unable to understand THIS explanation, I have serious doubts about their ability to even function in society, much less run our country! Mr. Obama will be a failure. You can't fix stupid!

Be warned Rita Dorita (or whatever) might accuse you of hijacking the thread for stating the blatantly obvious.

Default What professor?

In real life it would be almost impossible to find a professor that would take such a stance, since in acadamia the left is totally dominant, with conservative university professors very close to extinction.Today, all those profs go along with Obamaism and that teacher would nod his head in enthusiastic agreement.

According to the CIA World Factbook, nine European countries place ahead of the United States in terms of per capita Gross Domestic Product — Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Netherlands — all socialist countries. The United Kingdom, Austria, Canada, Australia, France, and Germany come up close on the heels of the United States. Considering the fact that these countries generally have less natural resources than the United States, and they offer extensive government services — free medical care, public transportation for the poor, generous unemployment income, and retirement benefits — are socialist systems better than free-market systems, such as in the United States? And do high doses of socialism boost economic growth?

It would seem so.

and what socialism would that be? Since true socialism is akin to Venezuela where the Government owns all of the industries and Obama has done none of the sort including reforming healthcare. The majority of Americans will be able to keep their own health insurance. You right wingers must have been at sleep in school when they were discussing economic theories because you pay more attention to talk radio pundits who I assure you know nothing about economics but probably majored in hysteria.

The United States is NOT a free market system. It's not even close to that. You cannot compare it as one if it isnt.

Yep! As posted on another thread:

"There will always be those who will not, and in some cases cannot, produce what they need to survive. These people think they have a 'right' to what others produce. There is equal opportunity in this country but that is not enough for these non-producers. What they want is equal results. They want what others produce without having to produce anything themselves. If they don't get it, they will simply take it.

That's all this is, folks. There will always be those who want to take more and more of what you produce and spead it around among those with little ability, aptitude and initiative.

Equal opportunity guarantees unequal result for one simple reason. Not everyone is equal. The more we spread the wealth the less initiative there will be to produce. This is true for the producers as well as the non-producers. Why should those with little or no initiative put forth the effort to produce if that which is produced is simply handed to them. Why should those with any initiative at all put forth the effort to produce more with less and less to show for it.

The more we spread what wealth there is, the less wealth there will be to spread. This path we are on right now, my friends, is headed straight down hill."
