Hey cuebald, is Obama supposed to be in town tomorrow so he can go talk to those people?
Nah, it would be a waste of time to talk to those people. Are those the same people that consider a town hall meeting a shouting match instead of a civilized meeting involving questions and answers.
Freedom from involuntary servitude, from being compelled to labor for the benefit of another; from mindless bureaucratic rules and regulations ad infinitum.
I will be at the range, exercising what is left of my second amendment right, or at home cleaning the objects of that right. I think the President has shown that he could not care less about what people might want, he was given his mandate when he got elected and will proceed to push his agenda through, regardless of protests and outspoken opposition.
The last time I read the constitution, the executive branch was to execute the laws passed by Congress. The Executive was not to "push his agenda", pass laws or have some "mandate" to ignore the laws enacted by Congress.
In fact, the founding fathers wanted non-partisan execution of the laws of the land.
But if you know of some clause that says otherwise, please upload it for all of us to read.
The U.S. Constitution is a compact between the States united and the United States, in Congress assembled. As part of the delegated powers, the United States is authorized to secure rights (not grant them) and govern those who consent. There are certain restrictions on the U.S., enumerated in the Bill of Rights, regarding the powers and rights of the people. There are government granted privileges and immunities (often called "rights"), but they are not of the nature of inalienable rights, that existed prior to the institution of government.
However, in 1935, Americans began to surrender their endowment of inalienable rights, by enrollment into Socialist InSecurity. Since there is no law compelling participation nor punishing Americans who do not participate, it is 100% voluntary - voluntary servitude.
At this time, many of the perceived "unconstitutional" actions of government (ex: lack of lawful money, socialist taxes and duties, requirement to get permission [license] before one can own a dog, marry, travel, operate a business, engage in occupations, possess certain substances, register their property, communicate, suffer complex regulation, and so on) can be traced back to consent.
Remember, the Declaration of Independence stated that governments are instituted among men to (a) secure rights [life, liberty, property, etc] and (b) govern those who consent.
If one has consented to the surrender of his inalienable rights, there are no grounds to object. If one was deceived by fraud, constructive fraud, misrepresentation or withholding of material facts, to get that consent, by all means - you have the right to object and revoke your signature upon those many many documents.
All law is the protection of property rights, all else is policy, and policy requires consent.
If one has surrendered his private property rights in order to be eligible for socialist entitlements, there is nothing for law to secure. All that remains is socialist policy - authorized by your consent.
Trying to reason with people who get their news from Beck, Limbaugh and FAUX News is harder than convincing a terrorist that there ain't 72 virgins waiting for him on the other side!!!
