Mark my words, Obama will not mention anything about the Public Option being scrapped tonight. For the last week, the media has been selling the idea that Obama is going to compromise by mentioning scrapping the Public Option in exchange for a Trigger. I have been saying this for the last week and I still stand by this now. I knew the media was feeding us a line of bull and was assuming Obama was ready to scrap the public option. Obama is going to give us more of the same. He will just restate what he has been saying and will attempt to sound more aggressive. This is classic Obama politics. Nothing new will be learned tonight. He will just try to demonize the opposition and place more pressure on them to compromise ie "accept the Public Option or else"
You are probably right. Have you read the proposal? It doesn't tell much about how the plan(s) will work at all. I don't think he will deliver what the public wants to hear because most of the answers haven't been inked yet. He can only dispel some of the more blatant mistruths going around and ignor the truths that are not popular.

He did mention specifics - "I am still working on the specifics".
Can you or someone else please explain what these "specifics" are. Only the person interested in said "specifics" would know what you're talking about. The President is not going to bean count during an address to Congress. It has NEVER happened, will NEVER happen and SHOULDN'T happen.
