Nowhere in the bill or in the posted rebuttal links does it say that illegals get free healthcare.
Free isn't the issue - insurance for illegal immigrants is. Obama's exact quote to which Joe Wilson responded, "You lie!": "The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally."
The Congressional Research Service says: "...unauthorized aliens who qualify as resident aliens (i.e., meet the substantial presence test), would be required under H.R. 3200 to have health insurance." http://media.sfexaminer.com/documents/noncitizens.pdf
Obama did lie, unless he has written a completely different bill.

What the Far Right Wing doesn't get is that most moderate Americans (which is the majority of us) saw Obama making an honest attempt to reach across the aisle for a bi-partisan healthcare reform bill.
However, what America saw was a Republican party that was unmoved by the plight of many Americans. A disdain for working together for a beneficial compromise.
And, the worst, a complete lack of respect for the office of the Presidency on a unprecendented scale. Obnoxious heckling and catcalling has never been done to any President addressing the Joint Session. This display will sit in the minds of most moderate Americans as a glimpse into how the Republican members of Congress really operate. It was very low-down and dirty.

Well if your analysis is right we should see the approval ratings for UHC skyrocket tomorrow and be swept into law post haste!

You're missing the point entirely.
The '06 and '08 elections were not so much wins for the Democrats (that is, Americans aligning themselves with the Democratic party) as it was a loss for the GOP. The Dems were pretty much winners by default, because that's the way the two-party system works.
What the GOP needs to do is not lose the next elections, which, with this kind of behavior, is going to happen again. That, and if they don't resolve this growing rift between the moderates - those who are more in line with the average American - and the wingnuts.
Basically this threatens to keep the GOP in the political wilderness, which I'm starting to think they enjoy. Because now they can just be obstructionists with no new ideas of their own and profit from the failures of the other side without actually doing anything constructive themselves. Just like the Dems from 2001-06.
