You're guilty as charged as well; only to start numerous threads with an anti-union agenda without really putting any concerted effort to the debate on the matter.

Unless the test in question is performed in the doctors' offices, they don't get paid for it - the lab/imaging center/specialist/etc does. Many times, even if the test is performed in the office, the amount received by the doctor doesn't cover the cost of running the test. Flu tests are a timely and specific example - I lose money when I run them on about half the patients I see. There are plenty more examples and I'm talking about private insurance, by the way - typically private insurance pays a fixed percentage above Medicare rates. Also, what do you think happens when a doctor does not run a test and misses a diagnosis as a result? (hint - lawsuit)

In this article some of the inequities of the upper vs. lower classes is discussed. The point that is really striking is that although the system has been showing undeniable favoritism to the wealthy in the past, it appears as if these policies are going to continue into the future placing ever increasing burdens on the working classes. My question is do you feel this inequity will manifest into a hatred of the upper class by the working class as the recession and unemployment continues to devastate their lives? What happens when a democracy becomes as lopsided economically as this one has become?
As the rich/super rich have have full war waged on the working class throughout our history, hard to see what will make them stop now.

True statement, but from time to time the pain for the working class does get bad enough to drive them to action. 100 years ago it resulted in anti-trust and labor laws. Perhaps it is time to break up Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and a few others.

No. That is one example of how you (and many others) have no idea what you're talking about. Where do people get this idea that you get paid for testing? Last time I checked most docs I know don't own testing centers (labs, radiology places, etc). Procedures, maybe...but tests?

They get kickbacks for referrals at every level.

I agree. I think that class warfare has occurred in nearly every society from ancient man to the present.

This is so true. Billionaire Boone Pickens gave $250,000,000 to OSU so that university could remodel it's football stadium into one of the best there is in the country. He has said he hopes to see some mighty positive results from doing that before he dies. He's around 80. Well, he is seeing results, already. This week, OSU's football team was ranked no. 5. And no, I'm not referring to Ohio State University.
