I'm sure most of you like we do here pay a property tax on your home to support a local free hospital district.

My question is, if we go to some type of federal healthcare plan what will happen to those hospitals and the local taxes we pay?

Will the hospitals go private and will we no longer have to pay those local hospital district taxes?

We are talking big bucks here and I am sure the local hospital districts are not going to like being put out of business..

Despite dozens of threads on health care reform, you're still unaware of what "public option" entails. Exactly what do you understand about this federal health care plan? Or better yet, do you have a specific example of the health care plan that helps explain your concern?

What does a public option have to do with my question?

"Will the hospitals go private and will we no longer have to pay those local hospital district taxes?"

We do not have a local hospital district that provides "free" care. Perhaps this is a Texas thing?
