"One of President Obama’s goals in his speech Wednesday night – unacknowledged, perhaps, but central – must have been to make the intransigient Republican opposition to health-care reform look rude, petty, disingenuous, counterproductive and fundamentally dishonest. My verdict: Mission accomplished, thanks to lots of Republican help.

When Obama said his planned reforms would not apply to illegal immigrants, a voice on the Republican side of the aisle yelled, “You lie!” The juxtaposition could only benefit Obama: a calm and reasonable president vs. a rabid-sounding critic."

If that is going to be one of the President's goals he is no better then they are. I believe it was not one of his goals. He is sick of the bickoring. He was not trying to antagonize last night. The idiot Republican was pissed off and acted rudely. Just as Democrats did to Bush.

So see- There will always be a bunch of rude idiots in Washington.

So whats your problem? Wilson shouldnt have done it but its not like democrats havent acted in this manner also

When you and other democrats state that democrats act poorly then you can complain about republicans at least Wilson said he was sorry unlike democrats.

Till then you have no room to complain

What democrat shouted down Bush as he was addressing Congress? When have Democrats disrespected the office of the President in such a vile manner in front of the world? It wasn't Obama's goal to show the republicans what they really are but they did they job all by themselves.

Come on Tank, before you cast stones...

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid...the_union.html

Doesn't make it right for either side but the Dems are not guiltless and might have even set the precedent for bad behavior.

Jadex beat me to the post

At least when democrats disrupted Bushs state of the union , Bush didnt have a glaring look at them like he could kill them. Bush above Obama kept it moving. Obamas response to Wilson speaks volumes

Obama flat out does not like people to call him out

So, you're comparing a murmur of boos which went on all last night to calling the President a liar in front of the world in that setting..Wow. This was about healthcare not about Joe Wilson but you all will excuse anything a rightwinger does.

What would have happened if Obama would have shouted out "liar" when Bush was in fact fabricating a reason for war? He would have been called unAmerican, a terrorist, a radical etc..Ooops that happened anyway.
