WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Quote:
Live footage of CNN as the network learns that vessels in a restricted part of the Potomac River were participating as part of a Coast Guard training exercise - on the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

CNN experts react to the fact that this took place on September 11. Homeland Security correspondent Jeanne Meserve said, "What were they thinking to do this on this particular day? ... I'm speechless over the whole thing." Also, Frances Townsend called it "felony stupidity." But nobody was more outraged than law enforcement analyst Mike Brooks. He called the fiasco "unconscionable." "It is unbelievable to me," he said.

CNN was praying for some casualties. Wolf Blitzer was nearly out of his mind with excitement.

What scum the media are.

Why don't you watch the video and decide for yourself?

"Before we report things like this, checking would be good," Robert Gibbs said to CNN reporter.

And I agree, it doesn't change the fact the it was insensitive of the Coast Guard to have a training exercise on 9/11.....WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!

Bad on the Coast Guard for not being even a little sensitive to what people near the Potomac went through on 9/11.

Bad on CNN for breaking their necks to get the story out first.

On this, of all days, people in positions of public responsibility should be WAY more aware of the potential consequences of their actions.

I'll also agree that the Coast Guard (CG) should have added some extra names to its normal notification lists if they did not do so. However, CNN's guilt is more evident. They admit the CG told Federal and local officials. At the moment the White House is right to criticize CNN for their lack of professionalism in this matter. The CG remains innocent until we know more.

Someone says "bang bang" on the radio and America messes its pants.

CNN was wrong to jump on this without getting the facts first.
